Tanweer Festival

The Tanweer Festival is set to launch in Sharjah’s Mleiha region on November 22, 2024, promising an unforgettable three-day event of music, poetry, and artistic expression.

The first day of the evening will feature:

  • Sami Yusuf, an international acclaimed artist known for his soulful melodies.
  • Senny Camara blends West African traditions with contemporary pop.
  • Ziyad Sahhab, a renowned Lebanese oud player and composer, will collaborate with French calligrapher Julien Breton for a stunning live performance of light calligraphy, blending music and visual art to celebrate creativity in Rumi’s timeless verses.
  • And Anas Alhalabi, a pioneering Syrian composer and the first handpan player in the Middle East.  showcasing his innovative sound alongside talented instrumentalists, creating a mesmerizing auditory landscape that complements the festival’s theme.

Tanweer Festival offers a variety of attractions beyond performances, including an indigenous marketplace, art installations, horse riding, moon gazing, guided tours of the Mleiha archaeological site and Valley of the Caves, and paragliding. Visitors can also access the Mleiha Archaeological Centre to learn about the region’s heritage.
