Sharjah Maritime Museum is organizing Al Sinyar 6 “Crafts and Professions” event on Saturday, October 26, 2024, to honor the legacy of our ancestors and inspire the youth with timeless values, fostering a connection between the past and the present. The event also seeks to raise awareness about our maritime heritage and celebrate our rich history.

Several traditional maritime crafts and professions will be featured in the event, such as:

• Crab trap (Gargoor) making
• Net weaving (Taraqat Al Leekh)
• Rope braiding (Jallat Al Hebal)
• Salted fish preparation (Maleh making).

Additionally, the event will include folk performances, sea chants (Nahamat), traditional maritime songs, as well as various workshops.
