Sharjah City

The Heart of Sharjah is a cultural heritage project that aims to preserve and restore the old town of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and return it to its 1950s state. A five-phase project intended for completion in 2025, the project is being undertaken by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), together with Sharjah Institute for Heritage, the Sharjah Museums Department, and the Sharjah Art Foundation. It has been proposed as a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

Expo Centre Sharjah is an exhibition and convention centre, located in the Al Kan district and was established on 3 January 1977 and was the first trade fair centre in the country. Sharjah International Book Fair is the biggest annual event that takes place at Expo Centre Sharjah along with other key annual events such as Xposure International Photography & Film Festival, Watch & Jewellery Show and the International Government Communications Forum

Al Qasba is a waterfront community that is separated from Al Majaz District by Al Khan Corniche Street. Al Qasba in Sharjah is a cultural landmark that features art centres, outdoor attractions and a number of other attractions. This picturesque community is at the forefront of the cultural movement in Sharjah and aims to fuel creative minds with a number of activities, events and leisure options.

Since its opening in December 2015, Al Noor Island has won a host of prestigious international awards. The Island was named Best Leisure Architecture in Africa and Arabia 2016 as part of the International Property Awards, and was also the recipient of the IF Design Award 2017 and German Design Award 2018.
