Money has been and continues to be a means of commercial exchange used by people since ancient times, and the United Arab Emirates is similar to other parts of the world where various types and forms of coins were used. The seventh edition of the annual program (Al Hisn in Memory), titled “The History of Coins in the United Arab Emirates,” aims to introduce visitors to the history of coins in the Emirate of Sharjah, the strong leadership and economic influence of Al Qawasim, the significance of the Emirate of Sharjah’s location in the historical development of coinage and currencies in the region, and the introduction of the UAE Dirham currency after the union’s establishment
