Butterfly House

Home to more than 500 butterflies belonging to 20 different exotic species, the Butterfly House in Al Noor Island is the biggest attraction. This dreamy space is located inside an ergonomically designed, nature-inspired structure that retains humidity and allows natural light to enter the butterfly haven.

Al Noor Island in Sharjah is all about celebrating nature, art and creativity. This is evident in every aspect of the Island, including its bespoke art sculptures and installations. There are 6 different installations across the island, each seamlessly integrated with its cultural and natural environs.

Al Majaz Amphitheatre

The Amphitheatre located in the centre of Al Majaz Island provides service facilities such as the Conference Room; VIP Majlis; showrooms; Helipad; Al Majaz Marina; Island Walk; Restaurants and green landscapes.

The open-air theatre is inspired by the Roman-style Amphitheatre and designed in a semicircular shape. At 7,238 square meters in area, the theatre can accommodate 4,500 spectators.

Al Majaz Amphitheatre is an architectural monument that integrates with the aesthetics of Sharjah and is one of the initiatives of Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Government of Sharjah.

Al-Noor-Mosque

Al Noor Mosque

The Al Noor Mosque can house 2,200 people in total for prayer which includes 400 in the ladies section and 1,800 in the men’s section.

The architectural design of Al Noor Mosque has influences of classical Turkish Ottoman architecture, and there are elements that are similar to the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul (also known as the Blue Mosque). The main entrance is flanked on both sides by 2 graceful minarets which soar into the sky at a height of 52 meters.

A features of the exterior is the elegant cascading domes, of which there are 34 in total. The central dome is surrounded by several half domes and finally at each corner by four small cupola domes. The interior of the central dome reaches a height of 31 meters. The exterior of the mosque is complemented with ornamental repetitive floral cornices around the edge of the roof and the arched doorways and windows.
