From 21 to 25 December 2022, Sharjah Archeology Museum will host the third Lamma event in the museum’s external courtyard, which includes a variety of activities, educational and entertainment programmes for various family members, in which a number of Sharjah museums will participate. During the school winter break, this event will provide active, educational entertainment for families and their children, as well as activities for adults. This year’s Lamma event will have an outdoor movie theater, entertainment shows, family workshops for kids and adults, an interactive playground, the characters Alia and Hamdan, a storyteller, daily story readings, oyster shucking, building a model of Sharjah Fort, pottery and calligraphy sessions, a fish tank with fish from the coasts of the Emirates, and a variety of food trucks.
This year’s event coincides with the 30th anniversary of Sharjah Archeology Museum, which opened on January 5, 1993 and was the Emirate of Sharjah’s first museum. Since its opening, the museum has housed the most important archaeological artefacts discovered in the emirate. These artefacts depict Sharjah’s history throughout the ages.
