The Department of Social Services launches the Senior Services Forum with today’s celebration for seniors, which is on October 1st each year, and aims to share experiences with international authorities regarding empowerment initiatives and programs that achieve the active participation of older persons.

The Department of Social Services places the issues of the elderly at the top of its concerns, which was established based on the great interest that the Government of Sharjah attaches to the elderly, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah – may God protect and preserve him.

His interest is evident in the many efforts to support the elderly and the constant pursuit of meeting their needs and providing a decent life, and striving to create a positive and supportive environment in which the elderly’s satisfaction and honor are taken into account and making the aging stage the best stage in their lives by surrounding them with all appreciation, care and attention.
